Dr. Schumacher
Dr. Schumacher
Dr. Schumacher grew up just outside of Edmonton in Sherwood Park, Alberta. He completed a Bachelor of Science degree at University of Alberta before moving to Saskatoon to complete the Doctor of Dental Medicine Program at University of Saskatchewan.
Upon completion of his dental degree, Dr. Schumacher returned to U of A to complete the one-year General Practice Residency program at Kaye Edmonton Clinic and University of Alberta Hospital.
Dr. Schumacher enjoys spending his spare time with his family, friends, and wife. He also likes to dedicate his time to activities that keep him outside such as skiing, biking, hiking, bird watching, and spending time out on the water.
Dr. Schumacher prides himself in making sure that he treats his patients to meet their individualized goals and needs. He looks forward to working with you and your family in Airdrie.
Dr. Feraro
Dr. Rachel Feraro was born and raised in Saskatoon, SK.
She graduated with a Doctorate of Medical Dentistry from the University of Saskatchewan, College of Dentistry and prior to she studied at the College of Pharmacy. While in dental school, she often volunteered at DIRECT dental, a not for profit clinic offering dental services to low income areas in Saskatoon.
Dr. Feraro is currently a proud member of the Alberta Dental Association and College. She is passionate for all aspects of clinical dentistry and takes pride in providing optimal care to her patients.
Additionally, she is a second generation Filipino who takes pride in her heritage. In her free time she enjoys back country camping, hiking, running and travelling the world. Her most notable adventure was climbing to the peak of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania in 2019.

Level II dental assistants are multi-skilled health care professionals who possess a diverse knowledge base. They effectively perform clinical and technical skills. Their education and training, professionalism and experience coupled with provincial registration and licensing qualify them to perform a variety of supportive and direct patient care procedures.
Intra-oral dental assistants prepare for and support patients for treatment by practicing universal precautions and infection control. They attend to the patient’s comfort and support in updating patient health histories.
Certainly, the role of the dental assistant is one that makes a big difference in the high quality of patient care that is provided by the team of dental assistants at 8th Street Dental.

8th Street Dental Hygiene Team
The profession of dental hygiene is based on preventative dental treatment. The duties undertaken by a Registered dental hygienist help to achieve and maintain healthy gum and bone tissue which contributes to overall dental and general health. Patient education is a major part of the tasks undertaken by our hygienists. What our hygienists do while you are in the office and what they educate you to do at home will help achieve the best outcome for your oral health.

8th Street Dental Administration Team
Our dental administration team handles the day-to-day office administration for 8th Street Dental and will be your first point of contact. In addition to scheduling appointments and answering your questions, our dental administrators are familiar with insurance coding and billing, dental terminology and dental procedures.
Our administrators will work with you to help you understand your dental treatment, follow-up with you after a complex dental procedure and review financial options. Our administrative team are the backbone of the clinic. They make sure everything is running efficiently as well as making you feel well looked after. Our administrative team has strong communication skills and they will find the answers to all your questions!
